Job Overseas

Overseas jobs are always attractive as the remuneration is very competitive.  Yes, the scope is still good in the job market especially for HR jobs overseas.  If you have the qualification, the skill to develop and manage personnel management, the ingenuity to create and maintain employee contacts and agreements, then what are you waiting for? There are millions of recruiters out there just waiting to grab hold of you.

Another area which has always had good scope is teaching jobs overseas.   If you have always dreamt of teaching in international schools abroad, then start applying at once.  Remember most of these jobs are tax free.  That in itself is an incentive for every educator to work abroad.

There are a lot of vacancies for nursing jobs overseas as well.  It is not that difficult to begin your search.  The newspapers and online job portals are there just for you.  As a healthcare professional you can get to work for families or even for large institutions.  Both pay well and you are sure to get job satisfaction.

So you've decided you'd like to work overseas. There's certainly plenty of demand for workers overseas and the pay is generally very good. Regardless of the country you are considering going to work in, here are some tips to get you started.
Whether the idea came to you in the middle of the night or you've been thinking about it for some time, just go for it! Pick the country you want to work in, do a little research on the job market there to make sure your skills match demand, and then either begin to apply for jobs online, or go to the country and begin applying in person. Make sure you have all necessary paperwork to work within that country. What's the worst that can happen? If you don't like it just come on home - after all you'll have an open-ended return ticket in your hand.
You might consider hooking up with one of the volunteer programs. There are many different ones online so do a little research and see if something works for you. You might not get paid but you'll get some terrific job experience and it'll look fabulous on a resume.

Each of us has a set of skills that we are very good at. You might consider taking those skills and becoming a freelancer overseas. Whether you're a writer, graphic artist, doctor, computer geek, or electrician, to name just a few, different countries are in need of different skills so do your homework at get working overseas. Plus many times you'll make more than you could at home with those same skills.
Many countries have a demand for specific skill sets. If you'd like to work in a certain country but you don't have the skills for the type of workers they are looking for, why not go back to school and get the necessary skills. Many non English-speaking countries are looking for teachers to teach English. If you think you could do this get trained and get busy.

Not sure where you what country you want to go to or what type of work you want to do but you have plenty of skills and experiences, maybe even a degree then why not get yourself posted abroad on one of the many job posting sites. This doesn't guarantee you a job but it does give you excellent exposure and who knows what just might click.
Top Reviews
Read your review carefully.
Posted Aug 11, 2011
Your manager will most likely hand you a copy of your review after they have gone over it with you. Some managers will give you a copy to read prior to the performance appraisal. The performance review will include information regarding areas that you are adept at as well as those that need improvement.
Try to read it objectively
Posted Aug 10, 2011
It is easy to feel offended personally. Rather than being offended, realize that a performance review is meant to be a constructive exercise, not one aimed at undermining you personally.
Remember that everyone has areas that could be improved upon.
Posted Aug 9, 2011
Your attitude towards suggested improvements says a lot about what kind of an employee you are/could become. Listen thoughtfully, if the information you get is a complete surprise to you, which it shouldn't be, tell your manager that you would like some time to digest everything that has been said and request a time to meet again.
Accept what you already know deep down
Posted Aug 9, 2011
It is more likely that your review will not be a complete surprise. You probably already know the areas you do well in and the areas that you need to improve upon.
Respond if required
Posted Aug 9, 2011
There should be a section for you to respond regarding your thoughts and feelings about the review. Do so in a calm, collected manner. Show how valuable an employee you are by the way in which you respond. Remain calm, responsive and open to constructive suggestions. Willingly admit that you feel deficient in the areas pointed out and really appreciate the opportunity to fix these with the support of your work team.
